Attack on corona / 10775 children of 12 to 14 years got the vaccine on the first day in Jammu and Kashmir

On the National Immunization Day on Wednesday, a vaccination campaign was started for children in the age group of 12 to 14 to protect against Kovid in Jammu and Kashmir. On the first day, 10,775 children were given the first dose of Corbevax vaccine in twenty districts of the state. In this, 1949 children got maximum dose in Kathua district. Children will be given both doses of Corbevax at 28-day intervals. Immunization drive will continue at medical centers along with upcoming schools. In Jammu and Kashmir, a target has been set to cover around five and a half lakh children of this age group in the next few days.

Advisor to Lieutenant Governor Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar formally launched the vaccination drive from MCH Hospital Gandhinagar Jammu on Wednesday. Here 150 children of a local higher secondary school were vaccinated. After this, vaccination campaign will be conducted under the action plan in different schools in Jammu district. He said that vaccination has played an important role in the prevention of the Kovid epidemic in the world.

To clear the misconceptions on the COVID vaccine, this year the theme of Vaccine Work for All, has been given. The Advisor visited the MCH and took stock of the work. He inquired about the medical facilities from the patients. Advisor Bhatnagar said that CCTV cameras in all critical care wards should be properly used to monitor patient care and services. During this, Principal of GMC Dr. Shashi Sudan, DG Dr. Salim ur Rehman, CMO Jammu Dr. JP Singh, Superintendent Dr. Arun Sharma etc. were present.

First day vaccination in these districts

On Wednesday, the first day in Jammu and Kashmir, 293 in Anantnag, 433 in Kulgam, 504 in Shopian, 332 in Pulwama, 276 in Srinagar, 454 in Budgam, 1004 in Baramulla, 1429 in Kupwara, 30 in Bandipora, 148 in Ganderbal, 1249 in Udhampur, First dose of vaccine was given to 205 children in Rajori, 74 in Poonch, 643 in Ramban, 798 in Doda, 60 in Kishtwar, 20 in Reasi and 724 in Samba.

1600 centers set up in the state

Dr. Salim ur Rehman, who is holding the additional charge of Health and Family Welfare Department and DG and Health Director, Jammu, said that 1600 centers have been set up in Jammu and Kashmir for immunization of children in the age group of 12 to 14 years. Apart from this, vaccination campaign will also be conducted in schools. Children can avail vaccination both at designated medical centers and at schools. Separate arrangements will be made for children at these centers. With which separate vaccination facility will be given to the beneficiaries of other age groups. So far more than two crore people have been vaccinated in the state.
