According to the police, the incident happened around 5.30 p.m. A tipper truck sporting fly ash from a backyard in mines II of NLC India Ltd. (NLCIL) turned into at the manner to Melakuppam, while it hit Govindan, 48, an agreement employee of NLCIL, who turned into returning home.

While Govindan died, his spouse Thilagavathy, who turned into a driving pillion sustained injuries and turned into rushed to the NLCIL General Hospital. The truck driving force fled the spot immediately.
