Delhi Assembly Elections: Former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor Arvind Kejriwal made an important announcement on Sunday that his party will not form an alliance with any party in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. However, he also confirmed to remain a part of the 'India' alliance at the national level. After this statement, the political stir in Delhi has increased.Kejriwal made this announcement during a press conference. It is believed that this decision has been taken after the failure of the India alliance in the Haryana and Maharashtra elections. No alliance with Congress in DelhiEarlier, the relationship between Congress and Aam Aadmi Party was soured in the Haryana elections. Many AAP leaders had made it clear then that there is no possibility of an alliance with Congress in Delhi.Arvind Kejriwal stressed in the press conference that his party did not benefit from the alliance with Congress in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Now, AAP will contest on its own in the Delhi Assembly elections to be held in 2024. The party has geared up for election preparations and has also announced the names of candidates on some seats.Attack on the central governmentKejriwal also fiercely targeted the central government in the press conference. He raised serious questions about the law and order of Delhi and said that there is an atmosphere of fear and insecurity in the capital.Kejriwal's statement on the deteriorating law and order in Delhi:"Law and order has completely collapsed in Delhi. Gangsters are dominating, and women are scared.""Businessmen are getting ransom threats. If they do not pay attention to the calls, firing is done outside their house or shop.""Goons leave threatening slips. This is very worrying for the people of Delhi."Apart from this, Kejriwal referred to the incident of liquid being thrown on him during his padyatra and termed it a conspiracy. He alleged that one of his MLAs was also arrested without reason.AAP's election strategyArvind Kejriwal's party has started working on its strategy for the Delhi assembly elections. The party has announced candidates on several seats.Kejriwal is trying to send a message to the people of Delhi that his party is strong on its own and is committed to the development of Delhi. He also stressed that the solution to Delhi's issues is possible only at the local level.ConclusionThis announcement by Arvind Kejriwal can give rise to a new political polarization in the upcoming elections. While on the one hand Congress and AAP contesting elections separately in Delhi can be beneficial for the BJP, this strategy of Kejriwal also shows that his party is full of confidence. It will be interesting to see in which direction this decision of the Aam Aadmi Party will take the political equation of Delhi. But it is clear that this election is going to be very important for both the people of Delhi and the political parties.
