Bollywood actor Aftab Shivdasani says director Ram Gopal Varma proposed him for the film 'Mast' after seeing him in a cola drink ad and cast him in the lead role. Even after the release of this film, his Bollywood journey was not easy as he was an 'outsider' actor and was struggling to make a career.

Aftab was last seen in a Kannada film

Significantly, Aftab Shivdasani is included in the list of Bollywood actors who have been working continuously in films since childhood, but they could not get the recognition they deserved. Aftab made his Bollywood debut in the year 1999 with the film 'Mast'. He was the lead actor in the film and his opposite was Urmila Matondkar. The film was directed by director Ram Gopal Varma. Let us inform that Aftab was last seen on the big screen in the 2021 Kannada film 'Kotigobba 3'. Apart from this, he also appeared in the web show Special Ops 1.5: The Himmat Story.

Audition given for commercials during school days

Now after a long time, Aftab has remembered his Struggle days from his Bollywood debut and has revealed some special things related to his life. Talking to Times of India recently, Aftab said, Child artist and young lead actor have nothing to do with each other. I auditioned for TV commercials during my school days as a child artist. I loved the acting as well as the camera. Aftab further says that the reason I was cast as a lead actor in the film 'Mast' was because of 'Cola Drink Aid'. Where I was seen by Ram Gopal Varma and then I was cast for it."

Recently shared coca cola ad

Remind you that Aftab shared a Coca-Cola ad on his Facebook page a few years back, saying, "This ad changed my life. Forever." Let us also tell you that when Aftab was offered the film 'Mast', he was 19 years old. This film was his super hit, for which he received many awards like Best Male Debut and Most Promising Newcomer. Aftab became popular due to his chocolaty image in the film. After this film, he was seen in the film 'Kasoor', in which his look changed. He looked absolutely fit in the serious character of this film. However, it was not easy for him to continue and move forward in Bollywood.

No one gave advice for the right work and film

In the interview, Aftab further said that he admitted that it has not been easy to survive and succeed in acting as I do not come from a film family. So no one was giving me advice or telling me how to plan my career. Whatever decision had to be taken for this was to be done on my own and I do not regret it in the slightest. Also, I won't deny that it hasn't been easy, as the truth is, it took a lot of struggle to get the right work and films.
