Venugopal announced that a meeting of the Congress Working Committee would be held on August 28 in which the dates for the elections would be stamped. Due to Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi being out of the country, this meeting will be held through video conferencing. If sources are to be believed, the Congress will get the next president near Diwali in October. After Rahul Gandhi's "no" to assume the post of president again, the interest is whether the Congress is going to get a president from outside the Gandhi family after nearly 24 years?

Most of the speculations are being made about Ashok Gehlot as the next Congress President, but Gehlot himself is appealing to Rahul Gandhi to take charge. Gehlot said that party workers across the country will be disappointed if Rahul Gandhi does not become the party president. They should understand the sentiments of the workers.

Speculations are being made about names like Ashok Gehlot, Digvijay Singh, Mukul Wasnik, Mallikarjun Kharge, Ambika Soni, Meira Kumar as the next Congress President. Gehlot's name is being taken very prominently. It has to be seen whether the group of dissatisfied leaders in the Congress, ie G23, fields its candidate! At the same time, a section of the party is in favor of retaining Sonia Gandhi in the post.

How much time will it take in the presidential election process?

Madhusudan Mistry, the head of the committee responsible for the election of the Congress organization, said that if it comes to voting for the election of the president, then the entire process will take about four weeks. If there is only one nomination, the process will be completed in just two weeks.

There are about 9 thousand voters across the country for the election of Congress President. In the membership drive that was concluded a few months ago, the Congress has talked about making about 6 crore members. After the election of the Congress President, it is formally approved in the convention of the All India Congress Committee.
