Operation Sindoor: Operation Sindoor not only demonstrated India's military strength to the world, but it has also completely changed India's list of international friendships. Countries that were earlier at the top of the list of friends have now slipped down, and those that were at the bottom have come up. Three big names have emerged in this new equation—China, Russia and America. While America was earlier considered India's closest ally, it has now slipped down in this list. On the other hand, China has come up, but with caution, because India cannot trust Jinping's country blindly. At the same time, Russia, which has always been India's trusted friend, now tops this list.Russia: India's evergreen friendThe friendship between Russia and India has been historic and unbreakable. Russia has supported India in every difficult time. Russian weapons further increased India's strength in Operation Sindoor. Russia's S-400 air defense system stood as a shield for India and shot down many Pakistani drones. This operation not only strengthened India's military capability, but also deepened relations with Russia.Russia openly supported India during the tension with Pakistan. Apart from this, Russia also strongly supported India amidst US President Donald Trump's tariff threats. Trump wants to stop India from buying oil from Russia, but Moscow has a clear stand that it is a country's own decision with whom it trades. Trump's attempt was to create a rift in the friendship between India and Russia, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin foiled his intention. On the contrary, the friendship between the two countries is getting stronger.Recently, when Trump was threatening about tariffs, India's National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval reached Moscow. Doval will discuss defense and bilateral relations in Russia. Before his visit, Russia's Deputy Army Chief held a meeting with the Indian envoy, which is a symbol of growing closeness between the two countries. It is clear that Trump's statements are not affecting India-Russia relations.America: Crack in friendshipDonald Trump's rhetoric has damaged India-US relations. Trump is trying to take credit for the India-Pakistan ceasefire, but India is not paying attention to his efforts. Some experts believe that this is the reason why Trump is repeatedly making new announcements about tariffs. His behavior has made India understand that America is no longer the friend it was before Operation Sindoor.Earlier this year, Trump gave PM Modi a free hand for Bangladesh, after which examples of India-US friendship started being given. But Trump's changing attitude has forced India to lean towards China.China: Growing closeness with cautionThe relationship between India and China has seen ups and downs in recent years. After the 2020 Galwan clash, both countries are engaged in improving their relations. Mansarovar Yatra has resumed, visas have been issued for Chinese tourists, and consideration is being given to start direct flights. But India is not giving up its vigilance. By exposing China's role in Operation Sindoor, India made it clear that it does not fully trust the Dragon.High-level visits between the two countries have increased in recent months. NSA Ajit Doval and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh visited China in June. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar went there in July. Now PM Modi will visit China from August 31 to September 1, where he will participate in the SCO Summit. During this time he may also have bilateral talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The two leaders had earlier met on October 23, 2024 in Kazan, Russia. This visit of PM Modi is taking place after seven years. Earlier he visited China in 2018. This visit indicates improvement in India-China relations, but India's vigilance remains intact. China has betrayed India many times in the past, so it can never be at the top of India's friend list.
