Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat has offered to resign through a letter to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President JP Nadda. After his offer to step down, speculation has started about the new Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. Although the discussion has started regarding 2-3 names.

Sources reveal that Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat has given a letter to BJP President JP Nadda that he wants to resign. Sources have told the reason behind this to be a constitutional crisis.

Tirath Singh Rawat, in his letter to Nadda, said, "According to Article 164-A, he was to become a member of the Legislative Assembly within 6 months after becoming the Chief Minister, but Article 151 states that if the election to the Legislative Assembly is less than one year. If time is left, by-elections cannot be held there. I want to resign from the post of Chief Minister so that there is no constitutional crisis in Uttarakhand.

2 criteria will be necessary for BJP!

After the departure of Tirath Singh Rawat, the party high command will have to announce the name of the new leader of the state. However, it is being said that only a Rajput or Singh caste leader can be made the chief minister here. At the same time, the party will make sure that the new leader is a member of the Legislative Assembly so that the situation of constitutional crisis does not arise again.

At present, the discussion has intensified on two names regarding the new Chief Minister and these names are Satpal Singh and Dhansingh Rawat. Satpal Singh is counted among the big leaders of the state, whereas Dhan Singh's name had come in the discussion last time too but Tirath Singh had lagged behind from coming ahead of Rawat.

Like Uttar Pradesh, assembly elections are going to be held in Uttarakhand next year too. Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat was summoned to Delhi. Apart from them, two senior BJP leaders Satpal Maharaj and Dhan Singh Rawat have also been called to Delhi.

During the tenure of the current assembly, Trivendra Singh Rawat was the Chief Minister for about four years, but Tirath Singh Rawat has remained the Chief Minister for only four months and now he has to resign. At present, he is an MP from Pauri Lok Sabha seat and to remain the Chief Minister, he must become a member of the Legislative Assembly.
