Uttarakhand Disaster / Relief package of 1200 crores, 2 lakhs to the families of the deceased... PM Modi opened the treasury

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the disaster affected people and NDRF-SDRF soldiers in Dehradun and encouraged them. He announced a relief package of Rs 1200 crore, Rs 2 lakh to the families of the deceased and Rs 50 thousand to the injured. He also assured special help for orphaned children.

Uttarakhand Disaster: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the disaster-affected people of Uttarakhand in Dehradun and shared their grief and pain. During this, he also met the personnel of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) engaged in relief and rescue operations and encouraged them by appreciating their courage and dedication. After this, the Prime Minister held a high-level meeting with Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and senior officials, in which strategies for disaster management and rehabilitation were discussed.

Relief package of Rs 1200 crore

Prime Minister Modi announced a relief package of Rs 1200 crore for the disaster-affected areas of Uttarakhand. Along with this, it was announced to provide financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh to the families of those killed in the disaster and Rs 50 thousand to the injured. This package will speed up relief and rehabilitation work in the affected areas.

'Cares for Children' scheme for orphaned children

The Prime Minister announced comprehensive assistance under the 'Cares for Children' scheme for children orphaned in disasters like recent floods and landslides. Through this scheme, special provisions will be made to secure the future of these children and meet their education, health and other needs.

Although the Prime Minister was to conduct an aerial survey of the disaster-affected areas, it had to be cancelled due to bad weather. Nevertheless, he took stock of the situation in the affected areas and directed the officials to take prompt action.

The government stands with the disaster victims - PM Modi

The Prime Minister said that he was deeply pained to see the damage caused in Uttarakhand. He expressed condolences to those who lost their lives in the disaster and said, "The Central and State Government are making every possible effort for the relief and rehabilitation of the affected people. We stand with all the disaster victims in this hour of grief." He praised the work of NDRF, SDRF and Aapda Mitra volunteers and said that their efforts have played an important role in saving many lives.

Chief Minister Dhami expressed gratitude

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Prime Minister for this cooperation. In his social media post, he wrote, "Our double engine government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed at every level for the relief, rehabilitation and safe future of the disaster-affected people of the state. On behalf of all the people of the state, heartfelt gratitude to the respected Prime Minister for the invaluable cooperation given in this difficult time of disaster."

Disaster havoc in Uttarakhand

This monsoon season, natural disasters like heavy rains, cloudbursts, floods and landslides have caused heavy devastation in various areas of Uttarakhand, such as Dharali and Harshil in Uttarkashi, Tharali in Chamoli, Jakholi and Basukedar in Rudraprayag, Kapkot in Bageshwar, and Sainji in Pauri. According to official figures, 81 people have died, 94 are missing, and 80 are injured in these disasters since April 1.

The Central and State Governments, under the leadership of the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister, are engaged in relief and rehabilitation work for the disaster affected people. Through relief packages, financial assistance and special schemes, the government is trying to ensure that the affected people can return to normal life as soon as possible.
