BCCI: The year 2022 was mixed for Team India. The Indian team performed brilliantly on some occasions, while at times the team also had to face embarrassing defeats. Especially the defeat in the T20 World Cup was one of them. The Indian team had to face defeat by 10 wickets against England in the semi-finals of this tournament. Ever since this defeat, questions are being raised on the pair of captain Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid. Now BCCI is going to hold BCCI meeting on the World Cup defeat in the beginning of the year 2023 itself.

Big decision will be taken on World Cup defeat?

The BCCI top brass will review India's dismal performance in the T20 World Cup on January 1 with captain Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid. NCA (National Cricket Academy) chief VVS Laxman, who was with the Indian team in Dravid's absence, is also expected to attend the meeting. The meeting is to be held in Mumbai ahead of the limited-overs match against Sri Lanka starting on January 3.

Haven't won any trophy since 2013

England defeated India by 10 wickets in the semi-finals of the World Cup. India last became the champions of the 2013 ICC event. The team then won the Champions Trophy title under the leadership of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. On home soil, the Indian team won the ICC World Cup title in 2011. A BCCI source said, "Head coach Rahul Dravid and NCA chief VVS Laxman are expected to analyze India's performance along with BCCI office-bearers. During this, the blueprint of the 2023 World Cup is expected to be discussed.

The Chetan Sharma-led selection committee was sacked after the Indian team's T20 World Cup campaign. With the new committee yet to be formed, however, he was given the responsibility of overseeing the Ranji Trophy matches and picking the squad for the three T20 Internationals and as many ODIs against Sri Lanka.
