New Delhi : After implementing the Agneepath scheme in the army, the government is also facing a lot of criticism and protests are going on across the country. Demonstrations turned violent in many places and public properties were also damaged. To convince the youth, the government released an informal fact sheet and said that such a scheme is already in place in many countries and does not have any adverse effect.

Now all the recruitment of Personnel Below Officer rank in the army will be under this scheme. Under this, a soldier will serve for four years and after that 25 percent of the Agniveers will be recruited in the regular cadre. It will all be based on their performance. The age limit to be admitted in this will be from 17.5 years to 21 years. These soldiers will also be given a separate rank.

Agniveers who complete four years will be given a package of Rs 11.71 lakh, which will be exempt from tax. At the same time, with this scheme, the government's plan is to reduce the pension bill, which is currently about Rs 1.19 lakh crore. There are many countries that have already implemented such a scheme. Let us know which countries they are and what are the rules there.

America

America has an army of 1.4 million soldiers and recruitments are done here on a voluntary basis. Most soldiers are recruited for four years and if need be, the soldiers are given an extension of four years. These soldiers can also apply for full service and are also eligible for pension and other benefits if they serve 20 years. Soldiers who retire early are given allowance.

China

Soldiers are compulsorily recruited in China. 4.5 lakh soldiers are recruited here every year. China has a high youth population, so every year 8 million people are ready for this recruitment. Those recruited on this basis are given a chance to serve for two years, out of which 40 days training is given. Based on the selection rules, many of these soldiers are also kept in full service. Soldiers who have served two years are given loans at a discount so that they can start their business. Apart from this, they also get tax benefits.

France

Here the recruitment of soldiers is done on contract basis. There are many recruitment models for this. From one-year renewable contracts to five-year contracts, which are also renewed. The soldiers are given training for three months and those who serve for 19 years get the benefit of pension.

Russia

In Russia, a hybrid model of recruitment is used, on the basis of which contracts are made in the armed forces. Under this, after one year of training, one year service is given. After that they are kept in reserve. Permanent soldiers are also recruited from these people. These soldiers are also given exemption in admission in universities and given opportunity to study in military institutions.

Israel

There is such a rule in this country that it is necessary for everyone to serve in the army. Men have to serve at least 32 months and women 24 months. After this service, they are kept in the reserve list and can be called on duty at any time. These soldiers are given basic training. Of these, 10 per cent are enlisted in the army and are on contract for seven years. A soldier is eligible for pension after at least 12 years of service.
