Mumbai / All Eyes on Supreme Court verdict, Ajit Pawar may hold Press conference Today; Uddhav will meet Congress MLAs

Mumbai: Today is important day in the midst of a political upheaval in Maharashtra for three days. The Supreme Court is likely to pronounce its verdict today on the petition of opposition parties (Shiv Sena, NCP-Congress). Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar is also speculated to be in front of the media today. He can come out in front of the media and present his case in front of NCP leaders and workers. On the other hand, Uddhav Thackeray can meet Congress MLAs on Monday after meeting NCP MLAs on Sunday.

  • Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar will officially meet each other for the first time on Monday after taking oath. It will discuss the steps to be taken to provide relief to farmers on crops damaged by rain.
  • Sharad Pawar arrived in Karad, Maharashtra on Monday. He attended the event organized on the death anniversary of former Chief Minister Yashwantrao Chavan.
  • NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal met Ajit Pawar.
Awaiting the decision, then preparing for meetings

sources said that the three major parties are awaiting the decision of the Supreme Court. Shiv Sena, Congress-NCP leaders can meet once again to prepare for the situation after the decision. It is believed that the floor test may be done in the state soon. Therefore, the three opposition parties have not sent their MLAs out of Mumbai. 

Uncle and Nephew face to face on Twitter

Ajit Pawar appeared on Twitter about 30 hours after becoming Deputy Chief Minister on Sunday. In one tweet after another, he thanked many big BJP leaders including Prime Minister Modi. Ajit wrote the Deputy Chief Minister changing his status on Twitter. Ajit said in a tweet- I will remain in NCP and Sharad Pawar is our leader. He also said that BJP-NCP alliance will give stable government in Maharashtra. 

However, a tweet by NCP chief Sharad Pawar came just after this tweet. In this he wrote - There is no question of alliance with BJP. The NCP has decided to form a coalition with the Shiv Sena and the Congress to form a government unanimously. He further said that Ajit Pawar's statement is wrong and confusing people. He wants to create a misconception among people.

Jayant's appeal- To come back

Pawar Soon after this tweet, Jayant Patil, who was elected the new leader of NCP Legislature Party, also tweeted and appealed to Ajit Pawar to return home. He tweeted in Marathi, which meant- come back respecting Sharad Pawar's decision.

We have support of 50 MLAs: NCP

late Sunday evening NCP leader Nawab Malik claimed that we have the support of 50 MLAs. But 4 MLAs have been kept by BJP people somewhere. Those four are in contact with us and will definitely return to us. 

NCP MLA shifts to other hotel

In view of Ajit Pawar's stance, NCP shifted all its MLAs from Hotel Renaissance to Hyatt. NCP leader Jitendra Awhan alleged that the policemen in the hotel were roaming in plain uniform. He caught three such policemen. He expressed suspicion that policemen are taking the talks to BJP leaders here. Congress leader Ashok Chavan also alleged that BJP leaders have booked rooms in hotels to break our MLAs. But, our MLAs are united.
