Amit Shah Announces Seva Sankalp Abhiyan: PM Modi's 25 Years of Service Celebrated

Union Minister Amit Shah announced a month-long 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan' from September 17 to October 17 to mark PM Modi's birthday and his 25-year journey as CM and PM.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed a significant press conference in Mumbai, where he announced the launch of the 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan' across the country. This month-long campaign is scheduled to begin on September 17, coinciding with the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and will continue until October 17. Shah emphasized that this initiative isn't just a celebration of a birthday but a tribute to the Prime Minister's long-standing commitment to public service. The campaign aims to reach every administrative unit, including states, union territories, districts, Lok Sabha constituencies, assembly seats, and down to the booth level.

A Milestone of 25 Years in Public Office

During the press conference, Amit Shah highlighted a unique organizational milestone, while he noted that on October 7, 2026, Narendra Modi will complete 25 years of continuous service as a Chief Minister and Prime Minister. Shah pointed out that very few leaders in the country's history have maintained such a consistent record of public service in these high offices. The 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan' is designed to honor this journey, which began in Gujarat and has now expanded to the entire nation, while while the BJP has traditionally observed 'Seva Saptah' or Service Week around the Prime Minister's birthday, this year's month-long program holds special significance due to this upcoming 25-year anniversary. The Prime Minister's tenure continues to be a testament to his dedication to the people.

Eradicating the Three Cancers of the Nation

Amit Shah spoke extensively about the transformative changes witnessed in the last 12 years. He stated that the country has been liberated from three major "cancers" or deep-rooted issues: Article 370, Naxalism, and the unrest in the North East. Under PM Modi's leadership, the government has successfully addressed these long-pending problems that had hindered the nation's progress for decades. Shah also mentioned the introduction of a strong policy to respond to terrorist attacks. He stated that if any conspiracy targets the Indian public or the army, the world has now seen India's firm and decisive response. This shift in defense and foreign policy, based on the principle of 'India First', has redefined the nation's global standing.

Economic Growth and the Uniform Civil Code

The Home Minister also touched upon the economic achievements of the Modi government, while he noted that India, which was once counted among the 'Fragile 5' economies, is now among the 'Top 5' in the world. According to the latest figures for the first quarter, India is leading major economies with a GDP growth rate of 7 point 8 percent. Also, Shah discussed the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), while he mentioned that UCC has already been introduced in several states and expressed confidence that it will be implemented in all 21 BJP-NDA governed states before the year 2029. This move is seen as a step towards ensuring equality and justice for all citizens.

End of Corruption, Casteism, and Nepotism

Reflecting on the political landscape from 2014 to 2026, Amit Shah asserted that the era of corruption, casteism, and nepotism has come to an end. He stated that the people of India have moved towards the 'politics of performance'. The government's focus has been on using constitutional powers to uplift the living standards of the poor through welfare schemes. Shah emphasized that the Prime Minister has always introduced himself as the 'Pradhan Sevak' (Prime Servant) from the ramparts of the Red Fort, dedicating his life to the welfare of the poor, securing the nation, and ensuring internal security. The ultimate goal remains the creation of a 'Viksit Bharat' or Developed India by the year 2047, where India leads the world in every field.

Details of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan

The 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan' will feature a variety of programs designed to engage the public and showcase the spirit of service, while these include 'Seva Divas' (Service Day), 'Mere Sapno Ka Bharat' (India of My Dreams) painting competitions, and 'Namo Seva Ki Ankahi Kahaniyan' (Untold Stories of Namo's Service). Other highlights include musical theatrical performances in local languages, 'Aangan Milan Seva', and the 'Seva Jyoti Kalash Yatra'. A special 'Seva Yatra' will be organized from Vadnagar to Varanasi, tracing the Prime Minister's journey. The campaign also includes initiatives like 'Seva Mera Yogdan', 'Seva Setu Abhiyan', 'Seva Ke Rang Rashtra Ke Sang', 'Seva For Innovation Challenge', and 'Sushasan Seva Samvad'.
