Political background of Omar Abdullah

Omar Abdullah is currently the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and has previously held the post from 2009 to 2014. He is the vice president of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, while his father, Farooq Abdullah, is still the president of the party. Omar Abdullah has also been an MP from Srinagar Lok Sabha seat from 1998 to 2009 and has also held the post of Minister of State for External Affairs. He is considered a supporter of uniting the India alliance in Indian politics.
