New Delhi: After coming out of the havoc of Corona virus, which has become a big disaster for India, many patients are suffering from Mucaramicosis i.e. Black Fungus. This new disease has become a major headache for Corona patients. But even more frightening news has come out recently. In fact, more than 158 patients of black fungus have been reported in Punjab so far. But 32 of these patients are those who never had corona infection. This has increased the concern of common people.

Corona still not surrounded by black fungus

Till now, it was believed that people who had corona were given steroids during treatment, due to which black fungus infection spread among them. But doctors say that these 32 patients are those who were given steroids during the treatment of other diseases. Therefore, it is not the case that those who recover from corona are at increased risk of developing black fungus infection.

Black fungus does not spread by touching

According to India Today news, Dr. Gagandeep Singh, who has been appointed nodal officer in Punjab for black fungus, says that any person whose immunity is weak, is at risk of getting the disease. He explains, "Black fungus does not spread by touching and if it is identified in time, then it is possible to treat it. Any person who has been given more steroids during the treatment of a disease can become a victim of black fungus. is." Please tell that on May 19 in Punjab, under the Epidemic Diseases Act, Mucaramicosis i.e. Black Fungus was declared an epidemic.

What is black fungus?

Mucoramycosis is a kind of very rare fungal infection that spreads very rapidly in the body. It is also known as Black Fungus. Mucoramycosis infection can also occur on the brain, lungs, or skin. In this disease, many eyes lose light while some patients have jaw and nose bones. If it is not controlled in time, it can also result in the death of the patient. It mainly affects people who are on medication for health problems which reduces their ability to fight environmental pathogens.

Diabetes patients at greater risk

Generally, people with little immunity, mucoramycosis, prey on those who succumb. The immune system of patients who have been cured during or after corona is very weak, so they are easily caught in it. Mucoramycosis can take a dangerous form in patients with diabetes, especially when they have elevated diabetes levels.
