Delhi: Muslim organization Jamaat Ulama-e-Hind advocated the pardon of suspended Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Nupur Sharma for allegedly making controversial remarks about Prophet Muhammad during a TV debate. Is. Jamaat Ulama-e-Hind President Suhaib Qasmi on Sunday said that former BJP's Nupur Sharma, who made controversial remarks on the Prophet, should be pardoned as per Islam. He said the Association of Muslim Scholars disagreed with the nationwide protests in the wake of his remarks.

Jamaat Ulama-e-Hind had called a press conference in Delhi on Sunday over Nupur Sharma's remarks and nationwide protests after Friday prayers. Qasmi said that Islam says Nupur Sharma should be forgiven. We disagree with the nationwide protests after Friday prayers against Nupur Sharma and her derogatory remarks.

We're not going to take the law into our own hands

Apart from this, Jamaat Ulama-e-Hind also welcomed the decision of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to suspend Nupur Sharma. Qasmi said that we welcome the decision of the law as India has its own law and we are not going to take the law in our hands. The law does not allow to come on the road and break the rules.

Jamaat Ulama-e-Hind has decided to issue a 'fatwa' through which it will urge people not to support any kind of violence regarding Nupur Sharma and her remarks. The Jamaat said that the fatwa would come against Asaduddin Owaisi and Mohammad Madani.

Muslim organizations and their funding should be investigated

Along with this, the Jamaat has also appealed to the government to investigate several Muslim organizations and their funding and said that it will not allow other Muslim organizations to incite violence.

Protests have started in different parts of the country over the controversial remarks of suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma and expelled leader Naveen Kumar Jindal. The protests turned violent in Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Jharkhand. Two people died during violent protests in Ranchi. Notably some Gulf countries have also expressed displeasure against the controversial remarks against the Prophet.

Meanwhile, a senior official of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) said that they have sent an alert to all state and union territory police to be alert as they can be targeted during violence.
