This missile can easily hit its target from surface to air.According to news agency ANI, DRDO said that today a new version of Akash missile 'Akash Prime' was successfully test-fired from Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur, Odisha. The missile intercepted and destroyed unmanned aerial targets in the air during the test.

Akash missile is a medium-range mobile SAM (surface-to-air missile) system developed by DRDO and manufactured by Bharat Dynamics Limited. The Akash missile system can hit targets 50-80 km away at an altitude of up to 18,000. The missile has the capability to neutralize air targets such as fighter jets, air-to-surface missiles and cruise missiles.
