IPL 2021 | Delhi Capitals fast bowler Avesh Khan is doing amazingly well in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. He has so far taken 23 wickets in 15 matches of the tournament and is second only to Harshal Patel of Royal Challengers in the list of highest wicket-takers. Delhi Capitals now have to take on Kolkata Knight Riders on Wednesday in Qualifier 2 of IPL 2021 and the team that wins this match will play the final with Chennai Super Kings on 15 October. Avesh has dismissed Chennai skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni twice this season so far and the pacer has credited skipper Rishabh Pant for it.

Avesh told ESPNcricinfo, 'It is good for me that the team management has trusted me, especially Rishabh Pant. He always tells me what to bowl and what not to. All the credit for my performance so far goes to him. We have played together since U-19 days. He gives me signals from behind the wicket and I know what kind of deliveries he is asking me to bowl, then I just focus on bowling that kind of deliveries.

Avesh will soon be rewarded for his best performance. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has asked Avesh to stay in the UAE after the conclusion of the 14th season of the league. If reports are to be believed, Avesh will be Team India's third net bowler after Umran Malik and Harshal Patel for the T20 World Cup. According to the BCCI, fast bowler Avesh may find a place in the list of standby players till the start of the T20 World Cup. In the T20 World Cup 2021, the Indian team will start its campaign against Pakistan on October 24.
