5000 Meter Race / Avinash Sable completes the race in 13:25.65 minutes, breaks Bahadur Prasad's 30-year-old record

National record holder in 3000m steeplechase event Avinash Sable has created a new national record in 5000m race. He broke Bahadur Prasad's 30-year-old record by completing the race in 13:25.65 minutes. Bahadur had made this record in the year 1992. Avinash finished at number 12 in the race held in California, USA, but during this time he made a national record. Norway's Jacob completed the race in 13 mit two seconds and won the competition. He won the gold medal in the 1500 meters race at the Tokyo Olympics.


Sable's name is the record of 3000m steeplechase

The record of completing 3000 meters steeplechase in the shortest time is in the name of Avinash Sable. He has broken his own record many times. At the Tokyo Olympics, Avinash Sable set a national record with a time of 8:18.12, but failed to make the final. He finished seventh in this competition. Even before this the record of three thousand meter steeple chase was in his name. Sable had set a national record in the Federation Cup in March 2021 by completing the race in 8:20.20 minutes.


30 year old record broken

Avinash, a resident of Beed district of Maharashtra, is a soldier of the army. The 27-year-old has broken the national record of Bahadur Prasad, who completed the race in 13:29.70 minutes at the 1992 event in Birmingham. Sable has broken his own national record in the 3000m steeplechase several times. During the Indian Grand Prix in Thiruvananthapuram, he broke his own record for the seventh time by finishing the race in 8:16.21 minutes. He has already qualified for the World Championships to be held in the US from July 15.
