Indian Cricket Team: After the 3-1 defeat in the 5-match Test series on the Australia tour, questions were raised on the performance of the Indian cricket team. Amidst discussions ranging from the form of the players to discipline, the BCCI has taken a tough stand. After reviewing the poor performance of the team, the board has implemented 10 strict rules, which all players and staff will have to follow compulsorily.

1. Time limit for family on foreign tours

Now the family or wife of the players will be allowed to stay only for 2 weeks on foreign tours. Apart from this, there is a complete ban on taking personal staff along. Players and coaching staff will have to stay with the team during practice and match.

2. Participation in domestic cricket is mandatory

Players will be required to play domestic cricket to get selected in the national team and maintain the central contract. This will not only improve their fitness, but will also give young players an opportunity to learn from them.

3. Strict rules for practice sessions

Now all players will have to be present during the entire practice session. Leaving the field before the practice is completed has been banned.

4. Limit on extra luggage

Players will be allowed to carry luggage only within the limit set by the BCCI in foreign tours and domestic series. The players will have to bear the cost of extra luggage themselves.

5. Ban on personal staff

After reports of many players taking personal managers, chefs or security staff, the BCCI has banned it. Now no player will be allowed to take personal staff with them.

6. Center of Excellence process

Players will now have to inform the team management before sending any equipment or item to the Center of Excellence in Bengaluru.

7. Ban on ad shooting

Players will not be able to shoot advertisements during any series. This step has been taken to keep the players focused on cricket.

8. Travel plan policy with family

The travel plan of the players and their families will be balanced with the team commitments.

9. Participation in BCCI events is mandatory

Players will be required to participate in BCCI's official events and shoots. This will help fulfill the commitments of the board and stakeholders.

10. It is necessary to stay with the team till the end of the series

Now no player will be able to return home before the end of the series, even if the series or match ends prematurely.

Purpose of the new rules

The aim of these strict guidelines of BCCI is to bring discipline in Indian cricket, ensure the fitness of the players and improve the performance of the team. This step will motivate the players to focus on team priorities by shifting from personal priorities.

This change is not only necessary for Indian cricket, but will also be helpful in taking the team to new heights in the future.
