India-Pakistan War: On 7 May 2025, India carried out its most decisive action against terror so far by launching precise and extensive missile strikes on nine terrorist bases located within Pakistan. This action was a response to the ruthless terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April, in which 26 tourists, including a Nepali citizen, were killed.Pahalgam attack: A painful pointIn this attack on 22 April, the terrorists fired bullets selectively after asking the religious identity of the tourists. The Resistance Front (TRF) first took responsibility for this ruthless act, but a few days later this organization distanced itself from it, claiming that social media was hacked. After this heartbreaking attack, anger spread across the country and Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that this time the answer would be such that it would be beyond the imagination of the terrorists.Operation Sindoor: India's strategic responseThe counter-attack launched by the Indian Army under the name "Operation Sindoor" targeted terror bases within Pakistan. The following major targets were attacked in this military action:Bahawalpur: Jaish-e-Mohammed headquarters completely destroyed.Muridke: Precise attack on Lashkar-e-Taiba headquarters.Muzaffarabad: Hizbul Mujahideen base eliminated.Kotli, Gulpur, Bhimber, Chak Amru and Sialkot: Terror launch pads and terrorist camps neutralized.More than 50 terrorists have been confirmed killed in the Indian Army action. The government had given full autonomy to the army and a series of high-level meetings were also going on.Panic and reaction in PakistanAfter the attack, people were asked to move to safer places through loudspeakers from mosques in Pakistan. According to the report of Dawn newspaper, Pakistan's General Chaudhary talked about giving a befitting reply to India, but clear information about the damage caused in the attack has not been given yet.Prelude to tensionSince the Pahalgam attack, there was extreme tension in Indo-Pak relations. India had started putting diplomatic pressure on Pakistan to reconsider the Indus Water Treaty, order Pakistani citizens to leave India, and other things. Pakistan had already expressed apprehension that India could attack on the night of 5th or 6th May, but its words were not taken seriously at global forums.
