Delhi Capitals started IPL 2022 with a win. Rishabh Pant-led Delhi beat five-time champions Mumbai Indians by four wickets in their opening match on Sunday. Delhi now has to play the next match with Gujarat Titans on April 2. But before that he has suffered a major setback. The team's all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has been injured and his playing in the IPL has become doubtful.

Australian all-rounder Marsh is currently on a tour of Pakistan and was picked for the ODI series with the host country. But before the start of the series, he got injured. He has suffered a hip injury, due to which he has been ruled out of the three-match series.

Marsh was roped in by the Delhi team in this time's auction with a hefty amount of Rs 6.5 crore. He was to join the franchise on 6 April after the Pakistan series.

Giving details about Marsh's injury, Australian captain Aaron Finch said that he suffered a hip problem during a practice session after which he was sent for scanning. We will wait for the report and only then we will know what has happened, but I think he will not be able to play in the upcoming series.

The 30-year-old Marsh is currently one of the top all-rounders. He played a key role in Australia's T20 World Cup victory last year and scored a match-winning 77 in the title match against New Zealand.
