Let us tell you that in the Delhi Liquor Policy case, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had challenged the summons issued by Rouse Avenue Court in the Sessions Court, for which the court has shocked him today.

Refusal to stay proceedings

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has got a big blow from the Sessions Court of Rouse Avenue Court. Kejriwal has not received interim relief from the Sessions Court in challenging the summons issued in the Delhi Liquor Policy case. The Sessions Court has refused to stay the proceedings of the trial court. The court said to approach the trial court for interim relief. The sessions court of Rouse Avenue Court has refused to stay the summons issued to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on the basis of complaints filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The ED had moved the lower court after it ignored its summons.

Demand for prosecution for ignoring summons

Let us inform that Delhi CM Kejriwal had moved the sessions court against the orders of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Divya Malhotra, who had directed Kejriwal to appear in the court on March 16. The ED had filed two complaints before the magistrate court, seeking prosecution against Kejriwal for ignoring multiple summons issued to him in the case. The ED said the new complaint pertains to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor not honoring summons numbers four to eight sent by the federal probe agency under Section 50 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

Kejriwal ignored 8 summons

Let us tell you that earlier, ED had filed an application in the Magistrate court demanding prosecution against him for not complying with the first three summons in the money laundering case related to the now defunct Delhi Excise Policy. ACMM Malhotra's court has listed the case (regarding summons numbers one to three) along with the other complaint for hearing on March 16. ED said that Kejriwal has so far ignored eight summons issued by the agency.
