The attacker who shot dead a CRPF jawan in South Kashmir's Shopian has been arrested. Weapons (pistols) have been recovered from the accused. The accused had carried out the terrorist incident on the instructions of Lashkar commander Abid Ramzan Sheikh. The police gave this information on Sunday.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Vijay Kumar said that an Over Ground Worker (OGW) has also been arrested in connection with the case. Case has been registered. Let us tell you that in Shopian of South Kashmir, terrorists had killed a CRPF jawan who had come home on leave on Saturday night. After the incident, a search operation was launched in the entire area.

Police said that the terrorists came to Chek Chhotipora village at around 7.30 pm on Saturday night. They targeted Jawan Mukhtar Ahmed, who had come home on leave. They shot him after entering the house. After that they ran away from the spot. After the terrorists left, the family members took them to Shopian District Hospital, where doctors declared them brought dead.

After the incident, senior officers of police and other security forces reached the spot and got information about the incident. After this a search operation was launched in the entire area.

Three security forces personnel killed in 13 days

In the last 13 days, terrorists have killed three security forces personnel. Earlier on February 28, ACB Inspector Sheikh Firdous, who was returning home after offering Namaz in Srinagar, was shot by terrorists outside the mosque. On March 10, the body of Territorial Army jawan Samir Ahmed Malla, who was missing for three days from Budgam, was recovered from an apple orchard. He too had come home on leave.

Sameer was close to Major Leetul Gogoi, who carried the alleged stone pelter to the bonnet of a jeep during the Srinagar Lok Sabha by-election. Sameer was given a Jammu posting in a court martial after he was caught with the girl in a hotel in Srinagar. It is said that Sameer had taken the girl to the hotel in his vehicle. Now on March 12, a CRPF jawan was killed in Shopian.
