Biporjoy News: According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), very severe cyclone Biparjoy is expected to turn into an extremely severe cyclonic storm in the next 6 hours. However, it is a matter of relief that it is not expected to hit the coast of Gujarat. Cyclone Biparjoy is predicted to pass at a distance of 200-300 km from the Porbandar coast, but there is a possibility of thunderstorms and strong winds in Gujarat till June 15. According to the latest forecast of IMD, very severe cyclonic storm 'Biparjoy' is likely to intensify into an extremely severe cyclonic storm in the next 12 hours.

Where did Cyclone Biparjoy reach?

According to the Meteorological Department, it is expected to gradually move north-northeast before moving north-northwest in the next three days. Director of Ahmedabad Meteorological Center Manorama Mohanty said that cyclonic storm Biparjoy is currently 600 km away from Porbandar. As it moves further, the port signal alerts will change accordingly.

Will Biparjoy hit Gujarat coast?

According to the forecast, at this time the Bipjoy cyclone is expected to pass 200-300 km from Porbandar and 200 km from Naliya in Kutch. As far as the current forecast is concerned, there is no possibility of Biparjoy hitting the coast of Gujarat. He said that fishermen have been warned not to venture into the Arabian Sea for the next 5 days i.e. till June 15. All fishing activities have been suspended.

Mohanty also said that Cyclone Biparjoy is moving towards North. Its speed is expected to change to north-east in the next 24 hours. After this, the direction of the cyclone will be towards north-northwest. He said that it is expected to rain with thunder in Gujarat till June 15. Especially in the Saurashtra-Kutch region, the wind speed will be strong.
