BSNL 5G News: India's state-owned telecom company BSNL is preparing to launch its 5G service next month i.e. in August 2025. The company has announced this through its official X handle, promising to give a better digital experience to the users. This move may increase the pressure of competition on private telecom companies like Airtel, Jio, and Vodafone Idea, as BSNL's services are usually cheaper, which is likely to harm the user base of private companies.

BSNL's big announcement

BSNL India posted on its official X handle saying,

"This August, BSNL is going to introduce the next level digital experience. Get ready for BSNL's game-changing digital journey."

This announcement indicates that the company is planning to bring a big change in the telecom sector with 5G service. This launch can create excitement among customers due to BSNL's affordable and reliable services.

Government support and review meetings

The government has started taking concrete steps to revive BSNL and MTNL. Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia recently informed the Parliament that for the first time in the Indian telecom sector, a review meeting of BSNL was held, in which he himself and the Union Minister of State for Communications were present.

Under this, now there will be a review meeting every month, which will be chaired by the Minister of State for Communications. At the same time, the review meeting to be held on a quarterly basis will be chaired by Jyotiraditya Scindia. The following points will be focused on in these meetings:

Innovation in mobile service: Implementing new technologies and services.

Decentralized decision making: Fast and effective decision making process.

Circle-specific progress: Monitoring progress in various areas.

Emphasis on increasing ARPU: The company has been given the target of increasing its average revenue per user (ARPU).

Impact on private companies

The launch of BSNL's 5G service is expected to give tough competition to private telecom companies. BSNL's affordable rates and government support can make it an attractive option for customers. Especially in rural and semi-urban areas, where BSNL's network is already strong, this launch can pose a challenge for private companies.
