UP Assembly Elections 2022 / Campaigning for the second phase of voting will stop today, veterans put their strength, voting on February 14

After the completion of the first phase of elections, now the veterans of all the parties have thrown their strength for the second phase of elections. Leaders of all parties, including the ruling BJP, have tried their best to create an atmosphere for their candidates in the second phase. All the big leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, SP President Akhilesh Yadav on Friday sought votes for their candidates by holding public meetings in the districts for the second phase of elections. The second phase of elections will be held on February 14 and the campaigning for it will end on Saturday evening.

In the second phase, voting will be held in 55 seats in 9 districts. For this, big leaders and star campaigners of political parties in Saharanpur, Bijnor, Moradabad, Sambhal, Rampur, Bareilly, Amroha, Shahjahanpur and Badaun held fast meetings to create an atmosphere in their favor. When PM Modi held a public meeting in Patiali, Kasganj, Amit Shah was in Bareilly. Apart from Kasganj, CM Yogi held public meetings in Shajahanpur and Badaun. BJP State President Swatantradev Singh, Keshav Prasad Maurya and other leaders also kept in touch with the voters by holding public meetings. On the other hand, SP President Akhilesh Yadav held an election rally in Rampur. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra held a virtual rally and sought votes for her party's candidates.

Campaign to outdo

Amidst the restrictions of the Election Commission, there is a competition among the major parties to get ahead in the campaign. While the BJP has put out a long army of leaders from the center to the state in the campaign, while SP President Akhilesh Yadav, BSP chief Mayawati and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra have kept the front alone. In terms of campaigning, the BJP has definitely taken an edge over the rest of the parties, but the opposition parties are also leaving no stone unturned.

Deployment of 800 company central paramilitary force for security arrangements

Polling parties will be dispatched on Sunday. The districts where elections are to be held include Saharanpur, Bijnor, Moradabad, Sambhal, Amroha, Rampur, Badaun, Bareilly and Shahjahanpur districts. For security arrangements, 800 company central paramilitary forces will be deployed.

Cash worth Rs 73.42 crore recovered so far

Since the Model Code of Conduct came into force, Rs 73.42 crore has been recovered so far. In addition, illegal liquor worth Rs 39.58 crore and narcotics worth Rs 36.47 crore have also been recovered. So far 1231 FIRs have also been registered in violation of the code of conduct. At the same time, more than 8.64 lakh arms have been deposited and 1799 licenses have been cancelled.
