Canada on Wednesday approved the Pfizer-BioNotech's Corona vaccine for vaccination for children up to 12 years old. Canada has become the first country to do so. In most countries, adults are currently being vaccinated with corona, in some countries the minimum age of vaccination is up to 16 years. Corona vaccine is not being given to children below this age.

"This is the first vaccine in Canada that has been approved to protect children from Kovid-19 and is a milestone in Canada's war against the epidemic," Canada's Chief Medical Advisor Supriya Sharma said in a news conference. For the first time in the world, we have approved the Pfizer vaccine for children ages 12-15. ''

Sharma also said that after reviewing the testing reports submitted by the producers, it can soon be approved in the UK and the European Union as well. It is being told that the US can also approve this vaccine for children up to 12-15 years of age by next week.

Sharma said two vaccine doses were administered to more than 2000 teenagers in the US, and a trial showed that they are as safe and as effective as adults. A statement issued by the Canadian Department of Health stated that none of the children who were vaccinated were found to be corona infected. In adults, the vaccine has been found to be more than 90 percent effective in preventing infection.

The side effects of the vaccine on children were also adult, such as arm pain, chills and fever. Pfizer's vaccine was approved in Canada in December for people 16 or older. Vaccines such as AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson and Moderna are also approved in Canada and are in the process of vaccine trials for children up to 6 months old.
