These missiles have been fired towards their surrounding areas. But it is being said that the landing of these missiles took place in Japan.

China is furious over the visit of US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan. This is the reason that after 26 years, China has again rained missiles inside Taiwan's border. The Chinese media has declared its power by releasing the video of these missile launching. The Global Times reported that the Chinese People's Liberation Army on Thursday began large-scale military exercises around the island of Taiwan. It started with live fire drills using long-range rocket artillery and conventional missiles in pre-determined areas in the eastern part of the Taiwan Strait. At the same time, the Taiwanese Defense Ministry has told that today the Chinese army has launched several ballistic missiles in the north-east and south-west of our country. The Taiwanese army is monitoring the situation and the air defense system has been activated.

Chinese missiles fired from 125 km from Taiwan

After the exercise began at 12:00 noon, the PLA Eastern Theater Command reported that the Army conducted live fire drills from long-range artillery in the Taiwan Strait at around 1:00 pm. It hit several specific targets with precision. Several video clips of this incident are going viral on Chinese social media. Multiple posts have claimed that these missiles were launched from Pington in eastern China's Fujian province, just 125 km from Taiwan. Chinese media have claimed that missiles fired from mainland China have taken off in the sky over the island of Taiwan. During this, the Chinese army fired several missiles and rocket artillery systems, including the DF-21, DF-26 and hypersonic DF-17.

How dangerous is China's DF-17 missile?

China's DF-17 is one of the most dangerous missiles in the world. Due to flying at hypersonic speed, it is very difficult to track this missile with any anti-defense system. This solid-fueled missile takes a very curved path to reach its target instead of going on a straight path. The missile is mounted to the DF-ZF hypersonic glide vehicle, which attains hypersonic speed by separating from the main rocket at a specified time after launch. The DF-17 along with the DF-ZF was officially unveiled at China's National Day Military Parade on 1 October 2019. Weighing 15000 kg, this missile is 11 meters long. Its operational range is said to be from 1800 to 2500 km.

DF-26 missile can hit up to 5 thousand kilometers

China's DF-26 missile has a range of 5000 km. The DF-26 is capable of carrying both nuclear and conventional warheads. The missile was deployed to the People's Liberation Army Rocket Force in 2016. This missile is produced by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation of China. China claims the DF-26 missile can deliver precise nuclear or conventional strikes against land and naval targets. It is China's first conventionally armed ballistic missile which is claimed to be capable of reaching Guam and US military installations located there. China displayed this missile for the first time during a parade held in 2015.

Learn the Power of Taiwan's Patriot Missile Defense System

In response to China's missile launch, Taiwan has activated the Patriot missile defense system purchased from America. The US and its allies operate the Patriot missile defense system. It is a combat proven weapon, whose strength has been tested in many battles. The Patriot (MIM-104) is a long-range, all-altitude, all-weather air defense system to counter tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and advanced aircraft. It is manufactured by Raytheon in Massachusetts and Lockheed Martin Missile and Fire Control Systems in Florida. Patriots are also stationed in several other countries, including the US, Germany, Greece, Israel, Japan, Kuwait, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Poland, Sweden, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Romania, Spain and Taiwan. The Patriot missile has a range of 70 km and a maximum altitude of over 24 km. The minimum flight time is less than nine seconds while the maximum is three and a half minutes.
