During this, he also targeted Navjot Singh Sidhu. He said, “Wherever Siddha will fight, I will not let him win. The right to remove, retain the officer rests with the Chief Minister, not the President, what Sidhu did has never happened in Punjab. At the same time, in response to the question asked on the floor test, he said, "Let the speaker decide whether the government is in majority or not."

Earlier, former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his residence on Wednesday, following which speculations had intensified about his joining the BJP. Putting an end to all these speculations and discussions, Amarinder Singh today said that he is not joining the Bharatiya Janata Party, but is leaving the Congress.

Amarinder Singh says that I had made it clear that he will not be able to bear such humiliation, the way I have been treated is not right. With this, the Captain stamped the speculations that were being made after he was forced to leave the post of Chief Minister of Punjab on 18 September.

Captain Singh also met National Security Advisor Ajit Doval on Thursday morning at his residence. The security situation on the Punjab border and the political crisis in the state were discussed between the two. Amarinder Singh said that even though he is not the Chief Minister of Punjab, Punjab still belongs to him. That is why Home Minister Amit Shah has met Ajit Doval. Senior Congress leaders Ambika Soni and Kamal Nath are trying to pacify Amarinder Singh. But the Captain has not expressed any desire to have any kind of meeting with Congress Party President Sonia Gandhi.
