On Monday, Rouse Avenue Court has extended the judicial custody of Arvind Kejriwal till April 23. Kejriwal's 15-day judicial custody was ending on Monday, after which Kejriwal's appearance in Rouse Avenue Court today through video conferencing from Tihar Jail. He was arrested and produced in the court, where the court has now sent him to judicial custody till April 23. Today, Rouse Avenue Court has also extended the judicial custody of Kavita, co-accused in the Delhi liquor scam, till April 23.

Kejriwal was arrested in Delhi liquor scam case

Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by ED after questioning in the Delhi liquor scam case and sent to Tihar jail. Kejriwal was arrested by the ED from his house on the night of March 21 after the Delhi High Court refused to grant him protection from punitive action.

Earlier in the day, a hearing was held in the Supreme Court on the petition filed against the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal in which the court has sought a reply from the ED. The apex court bench of Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice Dipankar Dutta asked the ED to respond in the matter by April 24 and said the case will be heard in the week commencing April 29.
