CWG 2022 : India ended its campaign in these Games by winning a total of 61 medals at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022. India's total of 61 medals won in CWG 2022 include 22 gold, 16 silver and 23 bronze medals. On the last day of Birmingham Commonwealth Games for India, PV Sindhu, Lakshya Sen and Satwiksairaj pair of Ranki Reddy and Chirag Shetty won gold medals in badminton and Achanta Sharath Kamal in table tennis. At the same time, G Sathiyan won the bronze medal in table tennis while the Indian men's hockey team had to be content with the silver medal. India finished fourth in the medal tally.

India had finished third in the table in 2018 in Gold Coast by winning 66 medals including 26 gold. But this time he could not cross that figure. India got the most gold and most medals from wrestling, where the country won 12 medals including six gold, one silver and five bronze. The lifters started the Indian campaign well, winning 10 medals including three gold, three silver and four bronze. India won its medals in 12 different sports events. India continues to top the individual medal tally in wrestling, weightlifting, badminton and table tennis (including para table tennis). The boxers also won seven medals in Birmingham as India stunned. Nikhat Zareen (50kg), Amit Panghal (51kg) and Neetu (48kg) won the gold, while Jasmine (60kg), Mohammad Husamuddin (57kg) and Rohit Tokas (67kg) won the bronze. Sagar Ahlawat (92kg) won India's lone silver in boxing.

PV Sindhu scored a hat-trick of medals in the Commonwealth Games. He had won silver and bronze medals in previous editions before winning gold at CWG 2022. Lakshya Sen, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty won gold medals in men's singles and doubles events and India won six medals in badminton at the CWG 2022.

In athletics, Aldhos Paul and Abdullah Abubakar achieved a historic feat after winning gold and silver in the men's triple jump. Avinash Sable produced the best individual performance by an Indian athlete in Birmingham by winning silver in the 3000m steeplechase. Veteran Achanta Sharath Kamal, playing in his fifth Commonwealth Games, won medals in all four table tennis events, including a gold in mixed doubles.

Indian wrestlers won medals in all events for the second time in a row with Vinesh Phogat completing a hat-trick of gold medals in wrestling. For the first time in the history of Commonwealth Games, India won medals in both men's and women's hockey events in the same edition. Men won silver while women won bronze.
