New Delhi India faced the first wave of Corona strongly and came out strongly. The second wave will also overcome the country in the same way and move forward on the path of development. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said this while expressing confidence in the potential of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME). Addressing a program of Amazon India through a virtual platform, the Union MSME Minister said that the global supply chain is going through a period of significant change. Many countries are exploring supply possibilities outside of China.

India's MSME sector has a wide potential to be a part of this global supply chain. He expressed complete confidence in the ability of the MSME sector to fight the epidemic wave. Gadkari said, 'MSMEs are the growth engines of the Indian economy. The Corona epidemic posed a serious challenge to our MSMEs and I am proud to say that our enterprises have been able to adapt to changing conditions and at the same time help to bring the country on the path of development. '

He said that by adopting technology while maintaining the right inputs and quality, this sector will be successful in the long run. The Union Minister said that over time it has become clear that technology is going to be very important in the competitive ability and success of Indian MSMEs in future. It will have a role both domestically and globally. "We have to ensure that there is digital transformation of the Indian MSME sector, so that companies can take advantage of the existing opportunities," he said. Gadkari also advocated for emphasis on capacity building as well.

The e-commerce platform has helped small and marginalized sellers reach not only in the country but also outside the country. Referring to this, Gadkari said that at such a time, digitization of MSMEs needs to be kept on top priority. He said that the government has changed the definition of companies coming under the purview of MSME, which will give strength to this industry.

Gadkari said that the MSME sector has created 11 crore jobs. It contributes one-third of the country's GDP. MSME accounts for half of the exports.

Great opportunity for Tesla to manufacture in India

In another event, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that it is a great opportunity to start manufacturing in India before Tesla, a US-based electric car company. Gadkari said, 'I would like to suggest to him that this is a good opportunity. Tesla takes a large number of components from Indian manufacturers anyway. In such a situation, there will be no shortage of their availability here. On the other hand, the Indian market is also good for Tesla. ' He expressed confidence that in the next two years India will be able to manufacture electric vehicles with Tesla standards.
