Rajasthan Election 2023: Congress on Thursday announced its candidate for Karanpur assembly seat in Sriganganagar district. The party has given ticket to Rupendra Singh Kunnar, son of late MLA Gurmeet Singh Kunnar. Rupendra has filed his nomination papers. Elections to the Karanpur assembly seat were postponed after the death of Congress candidate Gurmeet Singh Kunnar on November 19.

When is the last date for nomination?

On November 25, elections were held for 199 out of 200 seats in Rajasthan. Voting will be held in Karanpur assembly constituency on January 5. The official said that the last date for nomination is December 19 and scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on December 20, while the forms can be withdrawn till December 22. He told that the counting of votes will take place on January 8.

Victory or defeat will not affect the government

In the elections held on 199 assembly seats of Rajasthan, BJP got majority with 115 seats while Congress was reduced to 69 seats. Here it is clear that whether the candidate of any party wins or loses the Karanpur assembly seat, it will not have any impact on the politics of Rajasthan.
