Jammu-Kashmir News: A heart-wrenching accident has happened in Basantgarh area of ​​Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, in which a vehicle of CRPF's 187 battalion fell into a 200 feet deep gorge. Three brave soldiers lost their lives in this tragic incident, while many others were injured. As soon as the information about the accident was received, the local administration and relief teams immediately reached the spot and the injured were rescued and admitted to Basantgarh Hospital. The condition of some soldiers is said to be critical, whose treatment is going on.

The accident happened while returning from the operation

The accident happened in Kadva area at around 10:30 am, when the CRPF personnel were returning from an operation. A total of 23 soldiers were in the vehicle, who were going towards Basantgarh in a bunker vehicle. Two soldiers died on the spot in the accident, while 16 other soldiers were injured. The injured were immediately taken to the nearest hospital, where another soldier died during treatment.

Udhampur Additional SP Sandeep Bhat said that the police and relief teams took immediate action and started the rescue operation. All the injured were safely evacuated and taken to the hospital, where their condition is being monitored.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has expressed deep condolences over this tragic incident. He wrote on the social media platform X, "I am deeply saddened by the death of CRPF personnel in this accident near Udhampur. Their selfless service to the nation will always be remembered. Senior officers have been instructed to provide the best medical facilities and assistance to the injured."
