Daler is serving a sentence in jail in the pigeon pelting case. Sources say that after getting the punishment, Daler Mehndi looked very disappointed, after which Sidhu encouraged him by talking.

Sources also told that Daler Mehndi has been given the job of scribe in jail. He will also work from the barracks like Sidhu. Navjot Sidhu, who is serving a sentence in the road rage case, is working as a clerk in the jail. Sidhu and Daler Mehndi are old friends. Both have been seen together in many TV shows. In such a situation, while living in the same barracks, old memories will be fresh and when two friends meet, the caravan of memories will also be long.

There are also other high-profile politicians in jail, including Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia, who is MP Sukhbir Badal's brother-in-law. He is serving a sentence in the Central Jail Patiala in a drug case.

Sidhu convicted in road rage case

Sidhu was sentenced to one year in prison by the Supreme Court in the 1988 road rage case in which a 65-year-old man was killed. Sidhu was earlier released in this case only after paying a fine, but the victim's family filed a review petition against it, hearing which the court sentenced him to one year.
