Coronavirus / Deaths due to coronavirus in India double in 6 days to more than 400

The death toll due to coronavirus in India has risen to 414 after doubling in six days, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Thursday. Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus cases has surged to 12,380 in the country. Out of all the cases, 10,477 cases are active, while 1,489 patients have been cured, discharged or migrated till now.

New Delhi: The total number of people confirmed positive for the coronavirus in India has increased to 12,380 while 414 deaths were reported across the country, as per the latest data updated at 8 am today (16 April) by the Health Ministry.

According to the Health Ministry data, the confirmed cases of Covid-19 include 12,304 Indians and 76 foreign nationals.

Additionally, the total number of discharged/cured patients has risen to 1,488, while one patient has reportedly migrated to Singapore as per the latest data.

The total number of active cases across the country stands at 10,477.
