Rahul Gandhi FIR: Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has been accused of pushing MPs in the Parliament premises on Thursday. Two BJP MPs, Pratap Chandra Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput, have been injured in this incident. Both MPs have been admitted to the hospital. After this incident, BJP leaders had lodged a complaint against Rahul Gandhi at the Parliament police station, on the basis of which Delhi Police has registered an FIR against Rahul Gandhi.

Under which sections was the FIR registered?

Delhi Police has registered a case against Rahul Gandhi under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (BNS). These include:

Section 117: Voluntarily causing grievous hurt.

Section 125: Act endangering the life or personal safety of others.

Section 131: Accused of using criminal force.

Section 3(5): Under collective criminal act, all members will be held guilty for a crime committed by a group, even if they did not directly participate in the crime.

Status of MPs

Injured MP Pratap Chandra Sarangi alleged that Rahul Gandhi pushed another MP, who fell on him, causing him to fall too. Sarangi said, "I was standing near the stairs when Rahul Gandhi came and pushed an MP." BJP MP Mukesh Rajput also claimed that Rahul Gandhi pushed him.

RML Hospital official Sanjay Shukla said that the injured MPs have suffered head injuries and their BP was also high. Considering Pratap Sarangi's age, doctors have termed his injury as worrying.

Rahul Gandhi's stand

Rahul Gandhi issued a statement rejecting these allegations outright. He said, "All the MPs were peacefully going to the Parliament House from near Ambedkar ji's statue. BJP MPs were standing with sticks and placards and were preventing us from going inside. After this, this issue was raised to divert attention. Modi ji is selling the country to Adani ji, but BJP does not want to discuss this." Rahul Gandhi also said that there was no pushing and shoving in the Parliament premises.

Political tension

This incident can further increase the political tussle already going on in the Parliament. BJP has condemned Rahul Gandhi by accusing him, while Congress is calling it a conspiracy of BJP. Political turmoil is likely to intensify on this issue in the coming days.
