Delhi: Due to increased industrial activities after the corona epidemic in the country, there is a shortage of petrol and diesel in the country. According to experts, such situations are being created all over the world. However, the situation has worsened due to the demand exceeding the refinery capacity in India. They are expected to improve completely in one to two months.

Petrol and diesel affairs expert Narendra Taneja has told Hindustan that industrial activities are increasing in the world at this time, in which diesel is being used more. At the same time, the use of petrol for personal needs is increasing. There is no shortage of crude oil in India, the problem is the ability to refine it, convert it into petrol and diesel and deliver it to the pumps. The country's existing capacity is falling short due to unforeseen demand.

State-owned oil marketing company Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL) has tweeted that the retail outlets have witnessed unprecedented demand in some states in several days. States like Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh have seen more than 40 per cent growth in the demand for petrol and diesel in these months as compared to April-May last year.

Also, due to lack of supply from private oil marketing companies, this burden has also come on the government oil companies. However, HPCL has assured that it is always committed to ensure proper supply to the customers and the pump dealers are also ensuring delivery of the same on the day the demand is generated.

Oil companies have cut oil supply quota of petrol pumps. Its effect is visible in the entire state including Lucknow. On Sunday and Saturday, some petrol pumps of HPCL remained closed. Oil was not found at some of the BPCL pumps for two to three hours. However, regional sales officers of these companies have ruled out the oil crisis. At the same time, the Petrol Pump Association said that the oil supply at HPCL pumps has been disrupted.

Reliance's petrol pump located on Ayodhya Road in Lucknow has been closed for several days. Essar's pumps are also not getting full oil. When your own newspaper Hindustan investigated on diesel and petrol crisis on Wednesday, it came to know that except IOC, the pumps of other companies are not getting petrol and diesel as per their requirement.

On the condition of anonymity, the manager of a pump said that his daily sales are on an average 20 thousand liters, while he is getting only 12 thousand liters of diesel-petrol. This problem has been standing since 10 days. Dharamveer Choudhary, Petrol Pump Operator located in Phase II of Noida and General Secretary of UP Petroleum Traders Association, said that in Noida-Greater Noida, petrol and diesel are getting 20 percent less than the demand. There may be problems in future at the petrol pumps of the companies. There is more problem in the districts of Meerut and Purvanchal. There are 86 pumps in the district. In which 50 dealers run. UP Petroleum Traders Association President Naranjit Gaur said that the supply of HPCL pumps is being given less. Rest of the oil companies' supply is normal.

IOCL, BPCL and HPCL companies have 104 petrol pumps in Faridabad, Haryana. Out of these, 60 percent petrol pumps are owned by IOCL company. While 40 percent petrol pumps are owned by BPCL and HPCL companies. For the last 20 days, there is a shortage of petrol and diesel at the petrol pumps of BPCL company.

Every day there is a problem of petrol and diesel at one or the other pump in the district. For the last eight days, one or the other petrol pump of HPCL is not getting petrol and diesel all the time. On Wednesday, petrol and diesel was not available at HPCL's petrol pump near YMCA metro rail station in the city.

Recently there is a shortage of diesel-petrol at HPC pumps in Doon. During this, some people spread rumors on the social site that diesel-petrol is going to be closed for a few days soon. DM Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar has ordered the District Supply Officer to register a case against them. On the other hand, people in Srinagar faced shortage of petrol, diesel on Wednesday. People had to run 3 to 10 kms from Srikot and Maletha to get petrol filled. Even here people had to face many problems. Whereas due to shortage of diesel, less quantity of diesel was made available.

The shortage of petrol, diesel started at Srinagar GMO petrol pump from Tuesday itself. Whereas on Wednesday, due to complete stoppage of petrol supply, people had to go to Srikot and Maletha to get petrol filled. Due to limited stock on these pumps also, there were problems in getting the supply. Due to the low stock of diesel, diesel was made available for running. The pump operators said that this problem is coming due to the supply being affected from below.
