Lok Sabha Election 2024: There is not much time left for Lok Sabha Election 2024. In such a situation, all the opposition parties including Congress have intensified their preparations in the hope of victory. However, Congress is getting bad news from Bihar, Bengal and Punjab. Meanwhile, veteran party leader Digvijay Singh has clearly refused to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. While talking to reporters, he informed that he will not contest the Lok Sabha elections in 2024.

What is the reason for not contesting elections?

Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh was in Khilchipur city of Rajgarh district of Madhya Pradesh on Saturday. Here Digvijay refused to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and said that the question of contesting the elections does not arise because I am a member of the Rajya Sabha and there are still more than two years left in the tenure of the Rajya Sabha. He said that Congress will decide the candidate from Rajgarh.

Lost the Lok Sabha elections in 2019

Congress leader Digvijay Singh had tried his luck from Bhopal Lok Sabha seat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. But BJP leader Pragya Singh Thakur defeated Digvijay by a margin of 3.65 lakh votes. This defeat was considered as a big setback for Digvijay. Let us tell you that Digvijay Singh had represented Rajgarh Lok Sabha seat in the years 1984 and 1991.

BJP's lead in Madhya Pradesh

Lok Sabha elections will start in the country in a few months. BJP had won 28 out of 29 Lok Sabha seats in Madhya Pradesh in the elections held in the year 2019. In the year 2014 also, BJP had won 27 seats in the state. In the recently held assembly elections, BJP has again formed the government in the state with an overwhelming majority. Therefore, the party hopes that this time too it will repeat the same performance as before in the Lok Sabha elections.
