Anvi's father Vijay Janjarukia said that we had lost all hope in life when one day my wife came to know that Anvi sleeps by touching her shoulder as it gives her relief from pain. That day I saw the flexibility in his body and encouraged him to do yoga. He said that his dependence on medicines has reduced with the practice of yoga.

He had open heart surgery and is currently suffering from mitral valve leakage. He has disability of large intestine due to trisomy 21 and rigid vasculature. He also has trouble speaking.

Her mother Avani Janjarukia said that yoga has given a new life to our daughter. Every day she practices yoga for an hour in the morning and evening. She has performed with other ordinary children in competitions and has won many prizes.

Anvi, who hails from Surat, Gujarat, suffers from Down syndrome with 75 per cent intellectual disability. He had won the Prime Minister's National Children's Award on January 24 this year.

He was accompanied by his parents, who had arrived in Delhi from Surat to attend an event on Thursday, later approached the Prime Minister's Office with a request to meet the Prime Minister and a confirmation letter from the Prime Minister's Office. They were astonished when the phone rang.

Anvi's father Vijay Janjarukia said it was a dream come true. It was probably the biggest day of her life, when she met PM Modi and did yoga in front of him. She said that she used to call PM Narendra Modi as "Namo Dada".

Anvi did yoga in front of the Prime Minister during the meeting, PM also appreciated her efforts and blessed her for a brilliant future. He has promised to meet him the next time he comes to Gujarat.

He said that it felt like we are sitting with some family member and he (PM Modi) had a conversation with Anvi and said that he will talk about her in 'Mann Ki Baat'. He is a very down to earth person. During the meeting, PM Modi's signature was also found on his Prime Minister's National Child Award Certificate.
