Drone blast at Jammu Air Force Station

India has increased vigilance after the drone incident came to light, while many incidents of drone sighting have been reported in Jammu.

10 drones seen in a week in Jammu

The incidents of drone sightings have increased significantly after the blast at the Air Force Station in Jammu. The day after the blast, drones were seen hovering over the army's brigade headquarters in Kaluchak and Ratnuchak areas of Kunjwani in Jammu for two consecutive days. After this, a drone was also seen near Dal Lake on Wednesday. At the same time today (Friday) Pakistani drone was once again seen on the International Border in Arnia sector of Jammu. However, these drones disappeared after the vigilance and firing of the security forces.

Drone issue raised in UN in India

After the Jammu Air Force Station blasts, India raised the issue of use of drones by terrorists in the United Nations. Special Secretary (Internal Security) VSK Kaumudi said, "We have seen terrorists using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles to smuggle weapons across the border." "The misuse of emerging new technology for terrorist purposes has emerged as one of the most serious threats to terrorism," he had said. Today, information and communication technologies like internet and social media are being misused for propagating terror, raising fanaticism and recruiting cadres. In addition, new payment methods and crowdfunding platforms are being misused to finance terrorism.

New technologies need to be monitored: Ajit Doval

India's National Security Advisor Ajit Doval on Wednesday strongly condemned terrorism at a meeting of high security officials of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states in Dushanbe, capital of Tajikistan. Without naming Pakistan, he said, "Terrorist attacks from across the border and terrorists should be brought to justice soon." Along with this, Ajit Doval had said, 'There is a need to monitor the misuse of drones and dark web for arms smuggling, new technologies used by terrorists including artificial intelligence, blockchain and social media.'
