Bihar News: Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav was interrogated by ED for 8 hours in the alleged land-for-job scam. After being interrogated by the investigating agency for eight hours under the Money Laundering Act, he left the Enforcement Directorate office on Tuesday evening. He appeared before the investigating agency a day after his father and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav were interrogated by the central agency for about ten hours in the same case. According to ED sources, as per the interrogation, ED officials sought answers to about 60 questions in the land-for-jobs case.

When the former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar came out of the investigating agency's office, a large number of RJD workers were present. Tejashwi Yadav waved towards him and showed the victory sign.

ED interrogated Tejashwi Yadav for 8 hours

He reached the Enforcement Directorate or ED office at 11.35 am amid heavy security deployment and a large number of RJD members and supporters who raised slogans in support of Tejashwi Yadav.

Lalu Yadav was accused of this scam when he was the Railway Minister in the UPA-1 government. The allegation is that from 2004 to 2009, several people were appointed to Group “D” posts in various zones of the Indian Railways, for which they transferred their land to the family members of the then Railway Minister Lalu Yadav and an affiliate named AK Infosystems Private Limited. Was transferred to the company. This transfer was made in the form of bribe.

The ED had earlier said that AK Infosystems Pvt Ltd was an alleged “beneficiary company” in the case and its registered address was in New Friends Colony in south Delhi. It was being used by Tejashwi Yadav.

Allegation of giving job in exchange of land

The central agency's investigation is based on a case registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation or CBI alleging that then Railway Minister Lalu Yadav indulged in corruption for appointments to Group D posts in the Indian Railways during the period 2004-2009. Were.

Earlier, the ED had conducted a search operation on March 10, 2023, which resulted in the seizure of cash worth ₹ 1 crore (approximately) and valuables worth approximately ₹ 1.25 crore. It had also temporarily attached immovable properties worth Rs 6.02 crore on July 29 last year.
