Indian Navy: The strength of the Indian Navy fleet is going to increase soon. The country's first Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft INS Arnala has been launched. On Tuesday, Rasika Choubey, Financial Advisor (Defence Services) of the Ministry of Defense launched INS Arnala. Several senior officials from GRSE and Indian Armed Forces, and L&T were present on the occasion. INS Arnala has been constructed by Gardenreach Shipbuilders and Engineers Limited (GRSE).

This ship is also called silent ship because it does not make sound in water. Patrolling of coastal areas and searching for enemy submarines and destroying them if needed.

Special Features of INS Arnala:-

The length of INS Arnala is 77.6 meters and the width is 10.5 meters.

- Perfectly suited for reconnaissance and assault missions.

Capable of undertaking anti-submarine operations in coordination with Navy and Airforce aircraft.

-Combat Management System and equipped with light torpedoes, anti-submarine rockets.

57 marines can be deployed with 7 officers.

Can run at a maximum speed of 47 kilometers per hour.

It is named after Arnala Island, 13 km north of Vasai in Maharashtra. This island was considered the stronghold of Chhatrapati Shivaji.

Let us tell you that the Navy is making 16 such corvettes. All these are expected to be received by the end of 2026. The total cost of making them is Rs 12,662 crore. India has a total of 22 corvettes of Kamorta class, Kora class, Khukri class, Veer class and Abhay class.
