ENG vs SA / England shattered the record of the Indian team, this happened for the first time in T20I

On 12 September, England created history by scoring 304 runs in a T20 match against South Africa. Phil Salt and Jos Butler's stormy batting broke India's record of 297 runs. England became the first full member team to score 100 runs in the power play.

ENG vs SA: In the second match of the three-match T20 series played in Manchester on 12 September, England made a record that no one had expected. The English batsmen attacked the South African bowlers fiercely and scored 304 runs in just 20 overs. This is the first time that a full member team has scored 300 or more runs in T20 International.

This historic innings was started by England's opening pair Phil Salt and captain Jos Buttler. Together, they hit big shots on the African bowlers and did not give the opposition team any chance to come back. Their stormy partnership gave England the foundation to set a score which was till now considered impossible against full member teams.

Indian record broken

With this achievement, England also broke India's big record, in which the Indian team scored 297 runs against Bangladesh in Hyderabad in 2024. This performance of England has now been recorded as the highest score against full member teams.

New record in powerplay too

England did wonders not only in the total score but also in the powerplay. For the first time in its T20 history, the team scored 100 runs in the first six overs. England has now become the fourth full member team to achieve this feat. Earlier, Australia, South Africa and Zimbabwe have achieved this feat.
