Maharashtra | The government has been formed in Maharashtra under the leadership of Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis, but the political upheaval continues. At this time a big news is coming that except Aaditya Thackeray, notices have been sent to 53 Shiv Sena MLAs. This has happened for the first time in the history of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.

The MLAs to whom the notices have been sent include 39 from the Eknath Shinde faction and 14 from the Thackeray camp. Let us tell you that the petitions given by both the camps are to be heard in the Supreme Court on Monday. Both the camps have demanded cancellation of membership, alleging violation of whip during first speaker's election and then floor test on July 3 and 4.

The biggest reason for not sending the notice to Aaditya Thackeray is that Shinde Camp had decided not to take action against Aaditya Thackeray by claiming respect for Matoshree. Reply has been sought from these 53 Shiv Sena MLAs within a week.

State Legislature Principal Secretary Rajendra Bhagwat issued notices to these 53 MLAs of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly under the disqualification rule on grounds of defection. The MLAs have been directed to reply within seven days.

On July 4, Bharat Gogawale, chief whip of the Eknath Shinde faction, issued a one-line whip to all Shiv Sena MLAs for the trust vote and directed them to vote in favor of the motion. At the same time, Sunil Prabhu, the chief whip of the other faction, had also directed all the Shiv Sena MLAs not to vote in favor of the government.

A total of 40 Shiv Sena MLAs voted in favor of the resolution. One legislator joined the rebel camp that day. 15 voted against it. On the same day, Gogavale filed a petition to Speaker Rahul Narvekar, saying that disciplinary action, including disqualification, should be initiated against the 14 MLAs who did not vote in favor of the motion. Prabhu also filed a petition saying that Shiv Sena MLAs who did not vote against the resolution should be disqualified. He named 39 of them.

On July 3, the first day of the special session, 39 rebel MLAs voted in favor of BJP candidate Rahul Narvekar for the Speaker's post. While 15 Shiv Sena MLAs voted against him. On that day too, Gogawale had filed a petition against the 14 Shiv Sena MLAs to the Speaker.

According to the notice issued by Bhagwat, all the 53 MLAs have been directed to present their statements along with relevant documents before the Speaker within seven days.

Soon after the rebellion broke out in the Shiv Sena and Shinde's camp left for Surat, Uddhav Thackeray appointed Ajay Chaudhary as the leader of the Shiv Sena Legislature Party in place of Shinde. He also appointed Sunil Prabhu as the chief whip of the party. Shinde then turned to the speaker and was again appointed the leader of the Shiv Sena Legislature Party and Bharat Gogawale was appointed the chief whip. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court will hear on Monday all the major issues raised by the rival factions.
