To strengthen security, the legendary social networking site Facebook is seen adopting new methods every day. Recently, the company has said that from 2020 it will stop using the user's mobile number to send recommendations to friends. According to the report, to make the login process more secure, a code will now be sent to the user's mobile number so that it can be saved from hacking.

Facebook also monitors the user's purchase

The change is part of Facebook's $ 5 billion agreement with the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) that will come into force next year. Facebook confirmed the use of users 'phone numbers to target ads last year, although in June 2018 it decided to stop using members' security phone numbers for advertising.

In March, the company faced countermeasures over its secure login process Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), where it asked users to add phone numbers that could be searched by advertisers. Facebook said in a statement that it is getting questions about two-factor authentication and phone number settings on its platform.

The report revealed earlier this month that Facebook has partnered with top retailers, sharing data with Facebook about what customers are buying from their retail stores. In Change, Facebook sends ads to those customers as per their choice.

Business Insider reported in its report that Facebook sends advertisements not only to customers shopping online, but also to customers who go to stores and shop.

Facebook makes most of its revenue from the sale of advertisements. The company's revenue in the third quarter (July-September) of 2019 was $ 1760 million, out of which the revenue figure from advertisements was $ 173 million.
