Business / Fake claim to grant loan of 10 lakh under pm mudra yojana

PM Mudra Loan Online Apply: Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) was started in the year 2015. Under this scheme, loans up to Rs 10 lakh are provided to non-corporate, non-agricultural small/micro enterprises. These loans are classified as Mudra loans under PMMY. These loans are given through commercial banks, RRBs, small finance banks, cooperative banks, MFIs and NBFCs. The borrower can approach any of the institutions from these mentioned places or can apply online for the loan through their portal. However, some claims are also being made on social media regarding the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana.

A letter is quite viral on social media. The name of Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana is written in this letter and the picture of PM Narendra Modi is also printed. Along with this, a loan of Rs 10 lakh is also being claimed in this letter under PM Mudra Yojana. However, in return for this, Rs 4500 is also being sought.

At the same time, PIB has also done a fact check regarding this letter. Also tweeting, PIB Fact Check has tweeted, 'An approval letter claims to give a loan of Rs 10,00,000 under PM Mudra Yojana on payment of Rs 4500 as verification and processing fees.'

However, PIB has found this approval letter to be fake in its fact check. Along with this, PIB Fact Check has said that no such letter has been issued by the Ministry of Finance. In such a situation, the claim being made in the letter is fake.
