Delhi Police has increased vigil during festivals in view of the possibility of terrorist attacks. On the other hand, Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana held a meeting with senior police officers on Saturday to take stock of the security arrangements.

According to the information, a high level meeting was organized at the Police Headquarters. Various measures to deal with terrorist attacks were also discussed in this meeting. The Commissioner of Police said in the meeting that the inputs of terror attack in Delhi have been received from intelligence agencies. But these terrorist attacks cannot happen without local assistance. Terrorists take help from local criminals and fundamentalist elements to succeed in their plans. To avoid this, the Commissioner of Police should focus on community policing and eyes and year scheme.

Along with this, emphasis was laid on holding regular meetings with the members of Aman Committee, RWA and MWA. Apart from this, along with verification of tenants, instructions were given to check cyber cafes, chemical shops, parking and old car sellers intensively. He emphasized on establishing better coordination with street vendors and watchmen under Eyes and Years Scheme. At the same time, police vigil has been increased at major places. Apart from the police, personnel of paramilitary forces have also been deployed for this.
