Delhi Liquor Scam: Former Aam Aadmi Party MLA Sandeep Kumar approached the Delhi High Court seeking removal of Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal, arrested in the alleged Delhi Liquor Scam case, from the post of Delhi Chief Minister and sought legal action. In his petition, former Aam Aadmi Party leader Sandeep Kumar has argued that Kejriwal's arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is due to his alleged involvement in a money laundering case related to the Delhi Liquor Policy. Kejriwal is now "incompetent" to discharge his duties as chief minister under the Constitution.

Sandeep Kumar asserted that Kejriwal's imprisonment and his "unavailability" are a challenge to the constitutional framework, as a Chief Minister cannot function effectively from jail as mandated by the Constitution. The plea highlights Article 239AA(4) of the Constitution, which outlines the role of the Council of Ministers, headed by the Chief Minister, in aiding and advising the Lieutenant Governor in matters within the jurisdiction of the Legislative Assembly.

The petition filed by Kumar has sought issuance of writ of warrant against Kejriwal raising questions on his authority and qualification to hold the post of Chief Minister under Article 239AA of the Constitution and removing him from office without retrospective effect after conducting an inquiry. There has been a demand for his removal from the post of influence.
