1. Reward points on SBI credit cards discontinued

State Bank of India (SBI) has made a big change for its credit card holders. From now on, reward points will not be available for transactions made on digital gaming platforms and related merchants. 2. Changes in AU Small Finance Bank's credit card reward points

From December 22, AU Small Finance Bank has announced changes in the reward policy on its ixigo AU credit card.

Expenses on education, government services and rent: Now no reward points will be available on these. Rewards on international spends: This is also being abolished.

Forex markup: Zero percent will be implemented from December 23.

3. Axis Bank credit card fee hike

From December 20, Axis Bank is increasing various charges on its credit cards:

Finance charge: Increased from 3.6% to 3.75% per month.

Check return fee: Increased from Rs 450 to Rs 500.

Cash payment fee: Increased from Rs 100 to Rs 175.

4. Bank holidays for 17 days in December

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the list of bank holidays for December. Banks will remain closed in various states for 17 days this month. In such a situation, while planning for bank related work, do check the list of holidays.

5. Possible change in LPG cylinder prices

At the beginning of every month, the government revises the prices of LPG cylinders. In October, the price of commercial gas cylinder was increased by Rs 48, but the price of domestic cylinder remained stable. Changes are also expected in December.

6. Telecom traceability rules implemented

To prevent scams and phishing, TRAI has decided to extend the deadline for the new traceability rules for commercial messages and implement them this month. These rules will improve the security of OTP and promotional messages.

7. Last chance for free Aadhaar update

The chance to update Aadhaar card information (such as name, address, photo etc.) for free is till December 14. After this, a fee will have to be paid for every update. To avail this service, login to My Aadhaar portal and upload the required documents.

8. Maldives travel becomes expensive

From this month, those traveling to Maldives will have to pay more:

Economy class: Increased from $30 to $50.

Business class: Increased from $60 to $120.

First class: Increased from $90 to $240.
